Joshing with a Guardian Angel

As I went deep into a meditation recently, I was stunned to see and hear an Angel telling me that his name was Joshua and that he was one of my guardian angels.

Now perhaps some of you think this is all I do all day, sit around and talk to dead people, angels and the likes, but no, I don't. Sure when I am doing readings, teaching etc I open myself up to the spirit realm but any other time I am just a regular person trying to cope with overwhelm in crazy 2017.

It's more common I connect other people to their spirit people than I do my own so I was pleasantly surprised to have this encounter and even more thrilled to get a name.  Are you joshing Joshua? I asked and he gave a chuckle and replied 'absolutely not!'

Joshua went on to say he wanted me to share some information with you. He said it is so easy to connect with your guardian angel and that we tend to think it has to be cosmic and amazing but in actual fact, it can be simple, just like having a chat online. He said when we believe it can be simple it will be.

So this was his advice if you want to connect more so to your guardian angel.

1. Relax your body
2. Relax your mind
3. Ask for protection and for your guardian angel to come closer
4. Ask a question if you want to
5. Be quiet and listen

Then I asked him how will we know it is our angel and not our mind. He replied that you will either get a message immediately in the form of a loud thought being dropped into your mind or a feeling or a vision.  If you don't get anything, or you think you don't get anything, which is often the case, they will then try to answer you in the form of a dream or a sign.

Angels seem to have endless patience and persistence and they don't appear to suffer from overwhelm. Perhaps next life I might put in my resume to be a guardian angel!

Do you have any guidance about my work? I have been unemployed for 12 months and am running our of hope.

I sense a large man around you in Spirit who has passed over, I sense he was a relative on your fathers side of the family. He may have suffered from heart trouble. His energy is one of strength and endurance.  He is telling you to not give up hope and keep trying. There is breakthrough coming in the next few months. He said you are good with people and I think you would be good around retail or wherever you are talking to people a lot. I saw you studying real estate at some point as well, I feel the real estate business could be profitable for you. Spirit is encouraging part time study. Have faith, all will be well.

Will this issue with my throat be resolved without surgery? If so, how please?

Answer
I am always cautious to answer health related questions as mediums are not doctors. However, when I tune into Spirit they show me a beautiful green healing light around your throat as though they are trying to help as much as possible. There is a lovely mother figure around you who is encouraging you to seek advice from a professional, if only to put your mind at ease.  Seeing a doctor does not mean it will lead to surgery but you will not be so worried as you will know more what you are dealing with.  Even if you have already sought medical advice, Spirit suggests you get a second opinion.  I am sending you much love, healing and light.

Although you are understandably concerned, a lady's voice in Spirit is suggesting you enjoy this current period of opportunities for more rest and relaxation because it will not last long. I do see you working in a large building and your fingers on a keyboard although I feel it could be a creative industry. I am shown you in winter clothes going to work and a job is soon approaching. It may be something you have already applied for but am waiting to hear about. Spirit has heard your requests and change is imminent. The lady in Spirit went premature with illness and loves you very much. She shows me forget me not flowers around you.

I was asking Spirit what I should talk about in this blog and they guided me to pull a card for the blog. I was drawn to the Mother Mary Deck and the card that came up was 'Expect a Miracle'
This made me start to think, what is a miracle anyway? Isn't is a miracle we are alive, isn't it a miracle we are breathing, isn't is a miracle that the sun keeps rising each day? I guess sometimes it is a miracle we get out of bed each day!

What do we generally consider a miracle? A instant healing of a terminal disease, winning lotto when your chances are one in a trillion or an apparition of a dead person? We seem to use the word miracle only for super amazing, unbelievable events.  Perhaps its time to change that.

If we considered the simple things to be miracles, like hugging a loved one and feeling the rain on our cheeks, maybe we would be a happier society in general.

The online Etymology dictionary tells me that the Greek words rendered as miracle in the English bibles were semeion 'sign', teras 'wonder' and dynamis 'power'  So sign, wonder and power.

I want to feel the signs of wonder and power everyday, not just when something extraordinary happens. Here's to miracles !

Here is the interpretation of the card I picked as I do feel it was a message for us all from Spirit.  I do like the idea of expecting miracles, and that our requests for help have been heard in the Spirit World.

My 13 year old daughter is throwing temper tantrums and is quite nasty
can you see the reason behind her behavior?

Answer
I see a wise spirit guide around your daughter who present as an Hindu Indian gentleman who is trying to impress calm energy upon your daughter. My impression is that your daughter's behaviour is partly due to body changes but also wanting to exert her free will and recreate new boundaries within the family structure. I feel much of her outbursts are spontaneous, like she feels no control and then feels bad afterwards.  She is actually a sensitive soul and is trying to work out how to integrate the harshness of the so called real world into her daily life.  I feel patience, reassurance and  gentle but firm boundaries help. Spirit shows me white flowers around her seem to have a calming effect. Even images of white flowers may help if not the real thing. Choose times when she is calm to have conversations about how she is feeling. She will be fine, I also see art/creativity as a wonderful outlet for her at this time. I am sending you and your daughter healing and love.

 My son is booked for bariatric surgery April 21 and I need guidance re how best to deal with it. I feel mixed about this as I don't feel surgery is good treatment for compulsive eating disorder. Nonetheless it could be life saving in the short term. Detachment is something I have practised for a while now, but any guidance is gratefully received.

I sense a Buddhist monk in spirit around your son who is chanting and holding beads and praying for your son. I feel he is one of your son's spirit guides. Your son's energy is such a breath of fresh air, he is is a beautiful and loving soul with such a big heart and much to give. I get that this surgery is part of his path of learning and growing and that he comes out of this stronger and wiser. It will actually contribute to his healing in some way. I feel meditation would be a useful tool for your son.  Keep visualising a positive outcome for him as you have been. I am shown celebrations after the surgery so I do feel it is successful. I am sending you and your son healing and prayers.

It’s a fine balance in our lives when it comes to learning to force issues and when to let go. Its almost like walking an intuitive tight rope, not knowing if we take a certain direction what outcome will eventuate. 

I have no doubt that we are here in this life to learn, to grow and to evolve. Challenges that face us never seem to cease and there is part of us that is always waiting for calm and peace, perhaps a long lost memory of our former lives in the Spirit world before we incarnated.

As I mature and age, I think I am finally beginning to really grasp what I have always known, and that is that peace and calm begins within.  I feel I have been learning this lesson all my life and its not like I haven’t been aware from a young age of inner peace, but learning can go deeper into the cells of our soul it seems.

There will always be ups and downs, there will always be challenges to surmount, we will often make mistakes because that is how we learn.  The joy and the beauty of living is being able to stay connected to our inner peace and recognise beauty in the simplest of things, regardless of the ups and downs.

So when do we push for change and when do we hold back? Perhaps it begins with being authentic and honest with ourselves. Basing decisions purely on what serves us best. By taking this approach, others benefit also. This may take some soul searching, some journaling, some counseling, some meditation, some yoga, a nature hit, a massage,  whatever it is that helps you have the epiphanies that your whole being resonates with and says yes.

One thing I have noticed in life is when we hold back too long, the universe will deliver a wake up call and when we are too impulsive we make life harder for ourselves, so I guess the answer is ask Spirit and the Universe for guidance and love yourself enough to make decisions that serve your highest good. Easier said than done I know, but every time we try the Universe works with us.

Have faith, life truly is magical and wonderful!

I feel like Tim has a big heart and is more sensitive than he lets on. I also get that his connection with you alarmed him as he felt a lot of emotion and that he was not sure how to deal with it. I also get he was scared of commitment. There is a guardian angel around you trying to help heal your heart and she said its best to let go for now, if it is meant to be it will be.  Know you are worthy of much love.

I am wondering if I will find a soul mate and when as I would like to have someone to love and give love unconditionally.

I feel strong arms around you in Spirit of an older, kind lady who is giving you a pep talk on how special you are and encourages you to focus on self love at this time. She says that once you go a bit deeper into healing your heart and loving yourself, you will attract the perfect partner. There is love for you in the perfect timing but unless you love yourself more, you will recreate past patterns. I suggest the book You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay, most libraries have it.Ask your angels to guide you to the perfect healing for you at this time.

My life seems to be at a standstill, I live in an apartment with my daughter. I have many gifts and talents but have no idea what direction to take. I feel I need to put roots down somewhere so that we both can grow instead of being in limbo. Will we find a place to put our roots down and where so I can start working of a life purpose of serving.

I feel a strong male Spirit Guide with you who reminds me of Merlin, or a wizard archetype. You certainly have gifts that are spiritual or healing. The guide encourages you to start using your gifts, that is, the ones that bring you the most joy and upliftment, now and by doing so, other areas of life will fall into place. You will be guided to the right area to live at the right time, there will be no doubt. By focusing on the joy of your gifts, even if you do them for no payment at this stage, you will attract more joy and abundance into your life. I feel a father figure in Spirit assisting you with your situation and he points out it is a complex situation that requires patience and understands how your patience is being stretched. The outcomes you desire will eventuate but I sense it is more likely to come together the second half of this year in a sense of finality where I see your feet firmly on the ground and in a positive position. I feel much of this is out of your control at present and it is best to surrender and trust the universe you will be okay. Right now is not the time to make major decisions, as there is more information to unfold in the coming months.  In the meantime, be kind to yourself, you are very loved.

This is my cat Tiger who was with me for 15 years but is now is Spirit world, he visits me sometimes, particularly in my dreams.

 A common question  I am asked is about our pets and if they live on in the spirit world. The answer is absolutely yes!  The bond we form with a pet can sometimes be stronger than bonds we have with people. They are full of unconditional love, devotion and healing and are powerful teachers to us.  Unfortunately we usually out live them but they leave behind a gift of teaching us about death, dying and grief.  

Many years ago I had a an old mare called Lou who taught me to ride.  Lou was so patient with me and I always felt her pure and unconditional love.  Unfortunately after a owning her for a few years,  she became ill and was dying.  The Vet advised euthanasia. I held her head in my lap as the Vet administered the needle.  I literally watched the life leave her eyes and  in that moment I understood that whatever it was that made her Lou was gone as her body became empty shell. Lou was one of my biggest teachers about the process of passing over.

Around that time huge changes were happening in my life and in the next few weeks, the dog got ran over and passed away, the cat ran away and the chicken house caught on fire when I wasn’t home and my 5 chickens died.  I really believe when our pets die that they are making way for us to move forward in life. 

Their death’s often marks a time of change in our own life. It is as though they are sent to accompany us for a certain part of our journey  and when their work is done, they leave.  

Over the years, I have communicated with many animals through my medium work. They are keen to let their loved ones here know they are still around them just as our human folk do. In a reading they give evidence of their survival by impressing thoughts onto my mind often conveying some of their character traits or perhaps their condition of passing.

One thing I do know in my heart is that love is the most powerful force in the universe.  The bond of love between souls can be so strong that separation will only ever be temporary as true love will always find a way. If you have lost a beloved pet, do know they are only a thought away and that the love you shared will continue on.

 I am shown a brick home that has a new and fresh energy about it. I sense a woman in Spirit who passed around her 60's with you helping you, I think she had lung or heart issues. She worked hard in her life and she knows you are a hard worker also. She says you deserve a break and is determined to help you get it. Have faith, there is good news around a move, particularly the second half of the year.

My house....is the bank going to force me to sell it a lot lower price ?  Whats the energy around selling my house ?

Answer 
I see a circle of angels holding hands around the house and doing their best to keep the energy to your advantage. They give me that clear communication between you and the bank is important. I get a good sense around mid year that this is being sorted out. I feel you come out with a profit but it may not be as big as you are currently thinking but at the end of the day, you will be in a much better position, keep your prayers up, they are being heard!

I sense many around you in Spirit and they say that you often hear them and sense them. I sense you are a very spiritually minded person with innate gifts to share with the world. I feel you would gain satisfaction from helping others via healing, spiritual work, counselling or volunteer work. You are a giver. If there is something you have always longed to do but feel you couldn't do it, now is the time to hop out of your comfort zone and be brave. It is up to you to choose the path ahead but Spirit is right by your side guiding you, listen and you will hear them.

Will my son get a graduate job ? Any time frame or where would be great.

I feel there is a grandfather figure around your son helping him. He shows me your son doing a temporary mundane job firstly, (maybe he already is) just until he secures the job he wants. I feel he should be fussy and not take any job. I do feel Brisbane energy coming in around him. I get to tell him to be positive, the right job will come up for him at the perfect time. I am shown champagne glasses in May.

 I have a question to ask to the spirit.
It's about my relationships with my boyfriend. He doesn't work and hasn't been doing much which sometime irritate me or bores me... I worry about my kids if they feel ok when my boyfriend is around or staying  with us.
I really think we belong to each other and want to find the way both of us feel good but I'm feeling a bit heavy now and again...  sometime I'm not sure if he has been honest with me about things either.

I get a loving woman around you in Spirit who feels like a grandmother energy, she says she is on your mothers side. She is joyful and laughing and says she wants to make you smile and laugh as everything has felt heavy for you. She says she knows you love this man but she advises you put down strong boundaries and she will help you do this. Stay calm and loving and tell him what is acceptable and not acceptable to you in the relationship. She says there is a good female friend of yours that is a good listener and she is helping you through this time in your life. You cannot change him but you can change how you respond. I see sunny yellow daffodils around you which is about communicating more clearly.

Memories are activated by certain scents. The aroma of a lamb roast sends me back to my childhood, after church on Sundays and the scent of John Quill flowers reminds me of my childhood classroom.  

Our sense of smell is the most advanced out of the five senses, present in babies at the time of birth. The sense of smell is developed when infants are in the womb and it is how a newborn recognizes their mother. It brings us into harmony with nature, warns us of dangers and sharpens our awareness of people, places and things. Pheromones help us to respond to those we meet, can influence our mood, how long we stay in a room, who we talk to and who we want to see again. No two people have the exact same odor-identity which is determined by many factors including: our genes, skin type, diet, medicine, mood state and even the weather.

 Manipulating certain scents can have profound effects on us in terms of healing and is even used in the world of mediumship.  It is not uncommon during a medium based reading that I am impressed with various scents from people who have passed over.   

For example, recently I was reading for a lady whose mother had passed on. As I was communicating to her in Spirit,  I was overcome by an aroma of baking. I mentioned this to my client and she confirmed that her mother had worked in a bakery for twenty years.  

 At times, I have been impressed with a variety of scents including cigar and tobacco smoke. Spirit will manipulate the medium’s sense of smell to bring forward evidential information. It is like a calling card of that particular person who has passed over to let you know they are still around. Flowers are often bought through  in a medium reading in the form of a vision or scent either as evidence of the person in spirit, to express love or to get through a symbolic message.  Apparently the spirit world is full of flowers and natural settings, perhaps some scents exist there we are not aware of. 

Aromatherapy is a beautiful healing tool which I use regularly. I love burning certain oils and find they have wonderful effects. There are many healing properties of essential oils including physical and emotional balancing.  I am always impressed when I visit a doctor’s surgery or dentist and see an oil burner on in the waiting room as it can lift the mood of the clinic immensely. If your workplace is a little dull and there are no objections, try getting an oil burner there and see the results.  Citrus oils such as lemon an orange (which are inexpensive) are for promoting joy and positivity. Lavender oil is widely used for many things from headaches, relaxation, burns and spiritual protection. There are many good books and websites on aromatherapy.

Of course one of the most obvious and natural sources of wonderful perfumes are flowers.  Flowers often carry symbolic meanings, Perhaps we choose our favourite flowers intuitively, not only for the scent but the qualities it brings. 

So if you begin to smell something that is not physically there, it may be someone in Spirit trying to get your attention, and it is usually because they just want you to know they are there and looking out for you.

We are in contemplation whether to renew our lease as it ends in April. Could you please put some light on this as we love the area and the kids are happy at school though rentals are not always easy to come by. Thanks in advance.

I sense many around you in Spirit supporting you but I particularly get a father figure coming forward to assist you with much love and he is stomping his foot down quite adamantly and advising to stay put at least for now. He says everything happens in divine timing and I sense if you do choose to move it may be hard work...I do see August as a time of good news around this situation so do what your gut tells you but consider his advice. Perhaps negotiating a 6 month lease may be the answer.

I 'm having a difficult time here trying to connect with other gay guys to hang out with, I am met with being ignored or a two word response. Am I being to forward or what would help me to connect with other guys here? I am becoming very frustrated and am trying to not let it affect me but it is.

There is a young man around you who passed away, I feel he suffered depression when he was here but is fine now. He shows me waterfalls. He said to keep your chin up and that those people you have approached are not on your wave length and you deserve better. I see you attracting other gay people who have similar interests to you. I actually see you hanging out with some gay women and I feel they may open some doors for you. Hang in there, the next few months, something will shift around this.

Will my partnership be more stable and flow more easily?

A lovely woman in Spirit presents herself as passing over slightly premature, she comes in with a cough, so maybe she had lung issues. She is a strong lady and impresses her strength on you, she admires you for how strong you have been in the past and says that you are the rock in this relationship and he is more like the water that splashes the rock. He is not sure where he is going and what he is doing, but he does love you. Its your choice, if you continue to be the rock he will continue to do what he does so you have to accept the relationship as it is.  We can't change others but we can change ourselves and how we respond. This lady encourages you to put your needs first and practice self love. She will be leaving white flowers around as a sign that she is with you.

When I tune in I see a gentleman in Spirit smoking a cigarette, he had a difficult life and I feel he is either your father in Spirit or someone connected on your fathers side of the family. He brings you much love and reassures you that there is someone special for you but that you have had to work through a lot of complex issues.  You are more ready now and it something you have to let happen and unfold naturally. Your future partner may be a wee bit younger than yourself, has a love of music and a romantic nature. They do not give me a time frame but I sense it is not too far away.
